What Is CRPS?
A chronic pain condition typically affecting a limb after injury, surgery, or trauma. The nervous system sends continuous pain signals far beyond what the injury would normally produce.
Common Symptoms
Burning or throbbing pain, extreme sensitivity to touch or temperature, skin changes, swelling, and changes in hair and nail growth in the affected area.
Diagnosis
There is no single test. Diagnosis is made by a physician based on symptoms, history, and ruling out other conditions. Early diagnosis greatly improves outcomes.

CRPS can affect anyone at any age, though it is more common in women and often begins after an injury, fracture, or medical procedure.
